25 October 2007 - Harmac Medical focus on Poka-Yoke
<< Return to news
| Due to the success of the previous SMED and TPM project at the Castlerea plant, Oliver and the team are now focusing their efforts on Poka-Yoke (Mistake-Proofing) projects. Following a Poka-Yoke training event at the plant the team now fully grasp the concepts of preventing mistakes at the source just as Dr. Shigeo Shingo intended when he developed the process. The process involves video recording the entire sequence of operations and identifying potential Red Flags. These are then analysed with the team and solutions are created to ensure repeatability. All of the team members then agreed on the Best Way and developed Standard Work Combination Sheets as an aid for visual process control and training. This is a World Class plant where a committed workforce constantly adopt new ideas from the Kaizen Training Skillnet and immediately apply these in the workplace. Well done Oliver and the team |
